Gift knitting can get stressful with the date getting closer and so many rows left to knit. The Gift Knitting Planner works backwards from your deadline: count the hours each gift takes, add up your real knitting time per week, and get a cast-on date for each project.

What's included

5 pages, as an A4 and a US letter PDF.

  1. Gift List: one row per person, with project, yarn, hours, deadline and cast-on date. Room for 13 gifts, with tick boxes from "yarn bought" to "wrapped".
  2. Time Budget: rough knitting hours for 8 kinds of gifts, a weekly hours worksheet and a simple sum that gives your cast-on date.
  3. Recipient Info Cards: measurements, favorite colors, fibre and care notes for each person. Two cards per page, to cut out.
  4. Countdown: a 12-week plan with space for what is on the needles and a goal for each week.
  5. Tags and IOU Cards: gift tags with care tick boxes, plus cards for gifts that are still on the needles.

How it works

  1. Get the PDF free by email, or buy it on Etsy.
  2. Print at home on A4 or US letter paper. Print any page again whenever you need it.
  3. Fill in your gifts and cast on in time.

Good to know

  • This is a digital download. Nothing is shipped.
  • The countdown is undated, so you can use the planner every year and for birthdays too.
  • Colors may look slightly different depending on your screen and printer.
