A donut on the Christmas tree! It is easy and quick to knit, works in any yarn weight, and only needs a few grams, so it is a great way to use up your leftovers.

Decorate it however you like: colorful beads for sprinkles, embroidered yarn sprinkles, or a chocolate drizzle. Make a whole box of them for your tree, or tie one onto a present.

Method

The donut is knit flat. You cast on with a provisional cast on, shape the round with German short rows and finish with Kitchener stitch. Then you join the two halves of the donut with mattress stitch.
